Lifting Gear & Safety (LGS) started trading in 2009 from a single unit in Bristol. Today the company has nine locations along the coasts of both South Wales, the South of England, and the Midlands, employing 50 motivated and skilled people.

Constant reinvestment and good decision making have been key factors but we cannot ignore the fact that our core strength derives from the enthusiasm, experience and skill sets that our team demonstrate daily in their passion for the company and the business they are in. We are an independent company, but like to think in our field of the supply, hire and servicing of Lifting, Marine & Safety equipment, we are up there with the very best.

Lifting Gear & Safety belong to the business unit Lifting Solutions within Axel Johnson International. The business group is a global player in lifting equipment, steel wire rope, height safety and services. What we do

Our Lifting division offers a range of products from a simple Shackle to a high tonnage and complex Spreader beam assembly or from an Electric Chain hoist to a Box Culvert Pulling system.

The Marine division cover a similarly broad range from a First Aid kit to a 60+ man Lift Raft whilst you will find everything from a Safety Harness to a Rack & Pinion Hoist in our safety division.

Quality

LGS is committed not just to constant improvement but to providing quality in every aspect of the business. Our systems and procedures are subject to regular internal and external audits, and we are ISO45001, ISO9001 & 14001 accredited. Additionally, and amongst others we hold approvals from Joscar, & Achilles.

We are full members of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) and are proud that our engineers are amongst the most experienced and qualified in the industry. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) have approved our service station and we hold a wide range of manufacturers approvals for our Marine Safety products.
