Pre-Requisites:

Operators should be over 18 years of age, Physically Fit with Good Eyesight & Hearing

Course Objectives:

Understand the principals of operating pendant or remote controlled overhead cranes
Learn the need to select the correct lifting gear & Safe Methods of Slinging Loads
Learn basic daily checks of equipment & Report Defects
Communicate effectively using – Hand and Radio

Health & Safety 19, LOLER, PUWER, Safe Operation & use of Overhead Cranes and Lifting Equipment
Correct operations of Pendant & Remote controls Including Cab Controls
Estimation of weights of the Loads
Selection of Lifting Gear and Inspection Prior to Use
Safe Working Loads and Sling Angles
Basic checks of Crane & Lifting Equipment Prior to use
Safe Slinging methods and Angle Loading
Safe transfer & movement of loads and Hazard Observations, Safe System of Work
Signals – Hand & Radio Correct Communication
